The WAV Makers: Centra
Centra is a rapper & lyricist that hails from Hauppauge who is trying to make his mark onto the Long Island music scene and beyond through showcasing talented freestyles and raw lyrics.
Growing up during the come up and primes of artists such as Eminem, Drake, Kanye West & more while also inspired by what came before him in the 90's and beyond, Centra has always been a huge fan of hip-hop/rap. Before joining the likes of producer Dows & musician Andrew Nofer, Centra would freestyle for small crowds of friends in Rhode Island at parties & events where he went to College. Those around him gave positive reactions and he eventually recorded & released his first song "Tune In Freestyle" in August 2022 while back home from school.
After his debut single, he went on to release another song later that year titled "Breathless" featuring Kid Funk (Andrew Nofer) and "Got 'Em Hooked" in early 2023 before releasing his debut 4 track EP titled Vendetta which featured Andrew Nofer both as a guitarist and a rapper throughout. The day of the EP dropping, Centra had his first show in Massapequa where he followed up with two more shows in Smithtown & Hauppauge which made his "Vendetta Summer Series".
Centra followed up 2023 with 4 singles spread across the year in 2024 where he landed his biggest song to date "The Office" which has accumulated thousands of streams across all platforms but has since stayed away from any releases until midnight tonight where he makes his return with his single titled "THIEVES". After taking a break, Centra looks to change his approach to music, taking it seriously by exploring different marketing tactics, and trying to create a cemented image for himself. While that may take time, the Hauppauge native is off to a solid start.
